On the 29th of December fifteen youth members of the Youth for Peace and Development group joined a hiking trip to Batir, a village west of Bethlehem. Walking through the mountains from Batir to Beit Jala gave youth the chance to be introduced to the negative environmental effects of the Israeli Apartheid wall, and how it affected the people living in these areas. During the walk there were many team building, communication and leadership activities that helped in developing the skills of the youth member.

They were encouraged to participate in new activities and in conversations that need advocacy and lobbying skills. The trip achieved its aims in improving the skills of the youth, introduce them to new places in Palestine and notice the affect of the Wall on the Palestinian community. Through this trip the JAI provided the youth with nice, informative and challenging activities.
