Participation in International Events

JAI staff participate in international gatherings and events, including the Would Social Forum, the Would Council of Churches General Assembly, the World Alliance of YMCAs council meetings, the World YWCA council meetings, and so on, to communicate Palestine, present the JAI work and campaigns, and encourage participants and organizations to take positions and actions towards ending occupation.

Nidal Jap Kor March2017 2Based on an invitation from the National Council of the YMCAs in Korea and the "East Asia Forum on Pilgrimage on Spirituality for Life Together", the JAI Manager paid a visit to Japan and Korea for 12 days, from the 15th to the 26th of March 2017, to share the Palestinian advocacy strategies with the host organizations who are planning to adopt a Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) Campaign against companies that are complicit in people's suffering.

During the visit, the Manager gave 6 presentations on Life Under Occupation and on the JAI advocacy strategy including BDS for different group of audiences and also participated in 4 workshops run by the Japanese and Korean Citizens' Peace Solidarity against Nuclear Power Plants. Meetings were also held with the Korean YMCA in Japan, the YWCA of Korea and the YMCA of Korea and the National Council of Churches in Korea. The JAI manager also visited victims of Hiroshima nuclear bombing and Fukushima disaster in addition to the memorial of the victims of dictatorship in Japan and Korea and participated in a Candle Light gathering calling for peace and democracy in Korea.
