Youth Just Peace

This program works for the information, education and mobilization of Palestinian youth and works with them for launching different campaigns and initiatives, using different tools, and executing different activities to raise awareness and become advocates for Just Peace.

Two training programs were organized by the JAI, in cooperation with the EJ YMCA Rehabilitation Program, for some of its beneficiaries, victims of Israeli occupation (ex-prisoners, injured by the Israeli forces) and handicapped ones.

The training was on the 24th and 25th of July with 13 youth (3 girls and 10 boys) in the Nablus area, and on the 26th and 27th of July with 7 youth (2 girls and 5 boys) in the Hebron area.

It included the topics of: UN and SC resolution 2250 regarding on youth, peace and security, international advocacy, and UN resolution 1325 on Women, peace and security.

JAI trained 15 teenagers from Jericho in BDS and advocacy

In continuation to the JAI's series of teenagers and youth trainings, under the YWCA Palestine 'Young Citizens' Project, a day session was organized on Tuesday the 2nd of February 2021, for a group of 15 teenagers (11 girls and 4 boys), in the ages between 13 and 15 years, from Aqbat-Jabr refugee camp in Jericho, through Wasel Center.

The training was in advocacy mechanisms, campaigns' launching, and the BDS Campaign locally and internationally, in the forms of introductions, role-playing, exercises, sub-groups' works and discussions.

JAI trained 17 girls and 3 boys from Tubas area in advocacy and BDS

Another youth training was conducted by the JAI on Monday the 1st of February 2021, under the YWCA of Palestine' "Young Citizen" project, for a group of 20 teenagers (17 girls and 3 boys) in the ages between 12 and 16, from the Tubas area, north of the West Bank, through and at the Brotherhood Club.

Training day for 18 girls from Tulkarem in advocacy and BDS

The JAI continues its training for Palestinian youth, in cooperation with the YWCA of Palestine under the "Young Citizen" project, where another training day was conducted on Saturday the 30th of January 2021, for a group of 18 girls from Tulkarem, north of the West Bank, through Irtah Women Club.

The training tackled the topics of advocacy mechanisms, campaigning, and the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) Campaign on both the local and international levels.

JAI youth participated in movies competition and won awards

A group of Palestinian youth, who were previously trained by the JAI and involved in its students' exchange programs, participated in short-movies competition, through the JAI in partnership with Hanshin University in Korea and Bethlehem University. The movies reflected their sociopolitical life and Israeli occupation impact on youth.

On Friday the 29th of January 2021, a session was conducted at Bethlehem University, where they all attended, presented their movies, online with representatives from Hanshin University. And the winning places were announced. Three of the JAI youth got some ranks, namely: Sofie Ayaseh got the first rank, called the Peace Award, then Razan Qaraqe the third, called Human Rights Award, and Joyce Hijazin got the forth place.
