Youth Just Peace

This program works for the information, education and mobilization of Palestinian youth and works with them for launching different campaigns and initiatives, using different tools, and executing different activities to raise awareness and become advocates for Just Peace.

JAI trained a group of Bethlehem university students on BDS and Kairos Palestine

A day training session was carried out by the JAI of Thursday the 1st of November 2018, for group of Bethlehem University students, who usually receive, meet, talk and tour around the univerity with international delegations who visit it.

The training including and introduction to the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) campaign, its importance, mechanisms, and impacts on both the local and international levels, in addition to the importance of anti-normalization.

Kairos Palestine - the Palestinian Christian Initiative and call - was also introduced to the students, with its importance in line with the BDS Campaign in addressing Churches worldwide.

JAI trained 19 Palestinian youth on Advocacy, IHL and BDS

Between the 11th and 13th of October 2018, the JAI arranged a training program for 19 Palestinian young females and males, political ex-detainees at the Israeli jails, from the areas of Jenin and Ramallah.

Training11 13Oct2018 2The training included communication skills, advocacy mechanisms and the implementation of initiatives and campaigns, democratic citizenship and international humanitarians law, including the UN resolution 2250. A briefing on the history and current issues of the Palestinian cause were also introduced and related international law.

On another session, the participants were briefed about the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) Campaign, and its local and international work, role, and impacts.

At the end of the training, the participants discussed their plans to organize initiatives and campaigns, as to raise their voice towards decision makers, call for the fulfillment of their needs as youth and ex-detainees.

 

Training Rehabilitation Program youth in advocacy, BDS and anti-torture

A training program was arranged by the JAI, in cooperation with the EJ YMCA Rehabilitation Program, in the themes of advocacy mechanisms and skills, Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) campaign and anti-torture international law.

The training, which lasted from the 20th - 21st of September 2018, was attended by 20 youth with physical disabilities, ex-prisoners at the Israeli jails, and some youth, in the ages between 16 and 19 from villages, refugee camps and town in the Bethlehem and Hebron areas.

A training session for the EJ YMCA Rehab. Program social workers

A 3-day training program, 23rd – 25th of July 2018, was organized by the JAI for 21 social worker of the East Jerusalem YMCA' Rehabilitation Program, members of the program' teams across the West Bank.

The training included, on the first day, a review of the Palestinian political history, including the mandates, divisions, agreements, and current so-called 'Arab Spring' and their influence on the Palestinian cause. It also included citizenship, identity, democracy and secular regimes.

On the following day there was introduction to the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) Campaign, with its local and international activities, impact, and the role Palestinian youth and social workers can do and participate in. This is beside the Palestinian cause and international law.

The third day focused on advocacy campaigns and mechanisms, how to initiate and run campaigns locally and internationally, and how to influence the community and public using social media and campaigns.

Introducing Palestinian scout group youth to BDS and anti-normalization

A half-day introduction / training session was carried out on the 20th of June 2018 during the summer camp of the Beit Sahour Shepherds Lutheran Scout group, upon invitation and with coordination, where 60 youth scout participants attended.

The JAI youth coordinator / BDS National Committee member introduced the scout to the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) Campaign, on the local and international levels, how the youth scouts can be active in it, and be committed to anti-normalization activities / programs.
