This program works for the information, education and mobilization of Palestinian youth and works with them for launching different campaigns and initiatives, using different tools, and executing different activities to raise awareness and become advocates for Just Peace.

JAI trains 18 girls from Jerusalem in the Palestinian cause and Int. Law

The JAI has organized a two-day training course, on the 26th and 27th of November 2015 in Beit Sahour, for 18 girls from through the YWCA of Jerusalem.

The first day of the training focused on the history of the Palestinian cause and main turn points, including the Belfore declaration, British mandate, the Catastrophe in 1948, the 1967 war and occupation, first and second Intifada's (uprisals), the Oslo agreement, until achieving a UN non-member state lately. This included group discussion on where to go from here, on the local, regional and international levels.

The second day focused on the International Law principles, and how they can be applied in Palestine, in the Palestinian context, and serve the Palestinian cause with the Israeli occupation and violations on the ground. This also included introducing the Palestinian law, with the decleration of independence, and the Palestinian constitution. Brain-storming, workshops and practical discussion groups, film screening, and role playing were organized and practiced. The last session included International Law and International Humaneterian Law, the Roma Convension and International Criminal Court.

Training on normalization, advocacy and Int. law for 15 youth

jp july2015 1The JAI has organized a training program, from the 17th to the 19th of July 2015, for 15 youth from town of Beit Sahour, Beit Jala, Ramallah, Birzeit and Zababdeh, under its "Just Peace" Program.

  • International and local BDS and normalization.
  • UN resolutions and international law, related to Palestine.
  • Declaration of independence and mechanisms to establish real peace with justice.
  • Advocacy mechanisms and campaigns.


jp july2015 3At the end of the training, the participants decided to launch an initiative, entitled: "Youth Against Normalization", which they will start working on by early August 2015, in educating Palestinian youth about the damage normalization causes to the Palestinians cause on the international level.

 

The JAI organized training in IL & IHL for Palestinian university students

From the 16th to the 18th of October 2014, the JAI has organized a training program for Palestinian youth, university students from the northern areas of the West Bank, those who are mostly specialized in international law, as part of the JAI ongoing just peace project.

The training included the topics of International Law (IL), International Humanitarian Law (IHL), Rome convention, UN resolutions, advocacy and lobbying mechanisms and strategies on the local and international levels.

It aimed at raising the Palestinian youth voice locally and internationally towards making a change, and it resulted in various ideas and initiatives, a main one is to develop an initiative to put pressure on the Palestinian leadership and decision makers to approach the International Court of Justice and put Israeli on trial for its war crimes since 2002.

The JAI organizes training for 20 youth in IL and IHL as part of the Just Peace project

As part of the its ongoing Just Peace project, the JAI has organized a 3-day intensive training, from the 18th to the 20th of August 2014, in Beit Sahour, with 20 youth, more than half of which are girls, from various areas in the West Bank including Nablus, Ramallah, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron.

The training was in international law, international humanitarian law, with a main focus on the attack on Gaza, how we could use the UN and other international resolutions and agreements and bodies, including the Rome Statute, to hold Israel accountable, including the International Criminal Court.

On the last session of the training, the youth were trained and prepared with advocacy tools and mechanism to organize and implement advocacy initiatives on the local and international levels, based on the training they had, in cooperation with the JAI.
