This program works for the information, education and mobilization of Palestinian youth and works with them for launching different campaigns and initiatives, using different tools, and executing different activities to raise awareness and become advocates for Just Peace.

The JAI continues its training program for Palestinian students (from Beit Sahour, Al-Khader village and Dhaisha Refugee Camp), completed another 2 sessions during August 2020, with exercises, group discussions and presentations by the students.

The sessions were on presentations skills, Palestinian identity and cause, including history of the conflict, international treaties, and UN related resolutions 194, 242, 3236 and others which the students are to present about in the coming few sessions.

A training session in UN resolutions and BDS for 6 youth from the Ramallah area

Training18 8 2020A one-day training session, on the 18th of August 2020, was organized by the JAI, in cooperation with the YMCA Rehabilitation Program, for a group of 6 Palestinian youth from the Ramallah area, 4 of them are political ex-prisoners and ex-detainees at the Israeli jails.

The training including the topics of: the United Nations and how it issues resolutions, resolutions 1325 and 2250 related to youth and women, UN resolutions 181, 194, 242 and 338 related to the Palestinian cause, the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) Campaign with its goals and impacts, and how Palestinian youth can be involved in the BDS with local initiatives and campaigns.

training 11 12august2020 2A training program was carried out on the 11th and 12th of August 2020, by the JAI, through the YMCA Rehabilitation Program, for 9 youth, 5 boys and 4 girls, with special needs, from the Nablus area.

The training included the topics of: Palestinian youth needs and rights, UN SC resolutions 1325 and 2250 related to youth and women, advocacy and lobbying mechanisms and skills, and the development of initiatives.

 

Training days for youth in the Nablus and Bethlehem areas

Training programs for Palestinian youth were organized by the JAI, in cooperation with the YMCA Rehabilitation Program, one day the 27th of July 2020 in the Nablus area for 10th and 11th grade students, and the other day on the 28th of July 2020 for political ex-prisoners from the Israeli jails from the Bethlehem area.

The training programs included introduction to international law and resolutions related to Palestine, resolutions related to youth and women, advocacy tools and mechanisms, how to run and initiative and campaign, the BDS Campaign, and others. Trainees showed interest in the subjects, especially girls, and the ones in the Bethlehem area started planning an initiative to encourage their community to boycott Israeli products.

JAI started a whole summer training program for Palestinian teenagers

The JAI has started in June 2020 a training program for Palestinian secondary school' students in the age of 15-16 years, where coordination was made with 2 schools and a youth center the students came from, with variety of backgrounds.

Those are namely the Melkite Catholic School in Beit Sahour, Al-Khader village Secondary School for Girls, and Shoruq Organization in Dhaisha Refugee Camp, where more than 40 students have joined the program.

The training program includes 12-14 training sessions in advocacy, presentation skills, how to talk about the Israeli measures on the ground, the BDS campaign, Kairos Palestine, and others, in the forms of exercises, games, discuss groups, performances, field visits and others. Two sessions were implemented so far with caution procedures, with more than a month pause due to covid-19 lockdown.

Those trainees will also be later part of students exchange programs with partner Danish Efterskoles, where, God welling, some Palestinian students will be selected to visit these Danish schools this fall, and programs in Palestine will be organized in Spring 2021 for classes from those schools.
